EVALUATING AND REPORTING
In addition to a pre-admission evaluation of their English language skills, EAL students are evaluated continually throughout the year by the EAL teachers. A variety of assessment tools help identify language areas that need support.
All EAL students receive updates and/or reports from their EAL teacher in addition to their regular classroom report card. These updates/reports may provide a summary of support provided and/or a narrative account of progress in one or more of the language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking), which are described in relation to the WIDA English proficiency standards.
All EAL teachers are available during school wide parent-teacher conferences, and other meetings with parents are scheduled as needed.

POWERSCHOOL
We use PowerSchool, a web-based data management program, which allows us to record, organize, and share data about ELLs.
