  • Plan with core teachers and find a way to teach an initial lesson in each of the core classes
  • Look-out for missed EAL students
  • First Humanities writing project near the end of September - EAL students tend to need heavy support

Tasks
  • New Students enter - check schedules for Eroors
  • Email new parents
  • Look through new student files
  • Schedule WIDA testing for after Chinese New Year
  • Prepare WIDA testing material

Push-in
  • Teach Humanities novel study
  • Assess correctness of new student EAL levels

March/April
Tasks
  • Complete WIDA testing
  • Assign student levels for following year
  • Complete parent report
  • Email parents student EAL level for next year
  • Check student registration to ensure students register for proper EAL level
  • Meet with 5th grade EAL teacher about student placement for next year
  • Students moving from EAL+ into EAL must take Chinese Placement Test
  • Complete transitions google doc(s) from counseling office
  • Trimester 2 comments, WIDA levels, and Student Learner Profile scores
Push-in
  • Teach Egypt group and/or research skills in humanities classes
  • Students need intense support with Egypt Illustrated Journals Project
