(Ji Hyeon) Conclusion:

Have you ever though about why you are so different from the others? Have you wondered about what you will become if your life was completely different? Would that still be you? Identity is extremely important since it shows and tells who you are. Therefore, our identity is very significant in our lives. Since identity is important, there are elements that affect it. One of the elements is our personal experience, which includes learning from our parents, our life style, and also what and how we think. When identity is connected to experience it is totally different than the identity with our name and what we look like. Our identity connects to what we experience in life.

Our experiences connect with our identity by changing how we think from time to time. First of all, cultural knowledge increases where ever we go. When it expands, you will start to have different points of view when looking and thinking about things. For people who never gets a chance to travel around, they could still change what they think about certain subjects by what they've leaned from school, friends, and family. Second of all, as we are attending an international school, we all have experienced living abroad. Living abroad is one of the "cool" or "bad" thing you consider when you have to move. Once you are living abroad, you will learn about different things that you've never knew before and. Lastly, what everybody learned from their school, friends, or anything else are considered as experiences. Although they might not be memorable and interesting, those experiences are still a part of your life which might have changed completely how you thought about things. Maybe not all experiences will be useful, but the most important thing is that it connects to our identity, and that is what makes us special.

I believe that another experience that helps us make who we are now are the lessons that our parents teach us because from every lesson that they teach us we keep on learning more and more to be like them and that is why I think that depending on the lessons you learn then that will determine part of who we are. The first lesson that I want to discuss is a lesson that my parents taught me and that is to never give up. That had a lot of contribution to the kind of person that I am right now, because I use this lesson in a lot of different events including rock-climbing, sports, academic problems and almost anything if you think about it. My second lesson is to be kind to everyone and they will be kind back, this lesson has taught me to be kind at people so then this will help me in a way that I will not have as many enemies and that is good because then I will be able to live a happier and more calm life. My final lesson is to always be generous and that means that I am a person that cares about other people and I have followed that lesson since I was a little kid, I wanted to follow this lesson so that when I grow up I will be able to be generous and that will help me in the way that, well people always like generous people and that can tell a lot about them and that is that the person who is being generous is a kind of person that doesn’t only care about himself but a person that cares about everybody. Another kind of way that people become who they are is by their culture because that tells a lot about them and it shows their background and everyone’s is different.

Lastly, one of our identities is our style, such as how we dress, what kind of food we like to eat. When we go abroad and experience new things and get to be adjusted to the environment a lot of things get to change. For example, if you move to USA from Korea, your dressing style will be very different. In Korea, you may be used to wear hip-hop style but after moving to USA your style gets to change. Another thing is your taste gets to change. If you move around and try new things you get to find what kind of food really fits in you in that place. As a result, your taste gets to change. Experiences change our identities which are the style we have in our lives.

Life style, learning from our parents, and what we think about are important features of your life time experience which affects our identity of who we are. These features are different from everyone else's perspectives and point of views. Also, this is why each and one of us are uniques in our own way; we have experienced different types of situations and problems. Everyone might have similar personalities, but that does not make them the same. Our life time experience affects a lot in our identity.
